Farewell to MMU President

To All Beloved MMU Staff , Students, Alumnis and Friends.

Assalamualaikum Warahmatullah and Warmest Greetings.

Notice of Ending of Service in MMU

Please allow me to inform you all that time has come for me to make a move from this beloved university. I came into this institution 11 years ago to build what was the government's desire i.e. the first private university in Malaysia. It has been a long journey and by the grace of the Al-Mighty, my term as President has been determined to end on 31st December 2007.

I wish to take this opportunity to record my highest gratitude and appreciation to all of you - staff, students, alumnis and friends of MMU for all the interest, support and contribution given to this university since its inception. THEY ARE ALL VERY IMPORTANT AND SIGNIFICANT TO ME. Without your involvement and contribution over the 11-year history, it would have been impossible for MMU to have travelled this distance and I am therefore greatly indebted to you all. A million thanks always to you all.

May I also beg for your kind forgiveness should there have been anything, in all these years, that I may have done resulting in injustice or unhappiness to anyone of you. I am deeply sorry for this, and I can only tell you that I am only human and as such I am not free from making mistakes. If I have personally borrowed from anyone anything material and I have not returned them, please do contact me urgently.

Let me finally end this short note by wishing you all every happiness and success in all your endeavours, that your life shall continuously be guided and protected by the Al-Mighty, and I do sincerely hope that our friendship shall continue forever beyond the perimeter of this beloved institution.

Most Sincerely From Your Friend,
Ghauth b. Jasmon.
(28th December 2007).

Pavilion

The day before Christmas, me and my gf went to Pavilion, it was once old Bukit Bintang Girls Secondary School area which now has given way to Pavillion KL, a seven-storey building, which will have 450 outlets housing shops, food and beverage outlets and urban leisure areas. For bottom few floors, the shops offered all branded and elegant fashions. If you are looking for medium range prise of clothings you may go to upper floor. There are lots of nice restaurants for you to dine in with comfort too. Right after we've arrived there, we go for a food hunt. There's so many restaurant so we decide to try something new. Oh ya, here's one burger shop I'll recommend to you guys. It's Carl's Jr located at Level 1 (1.29.03). I don't know about Malaysia though, do tell me how is it. The one I ate when I'm in Singapore; the burger is very big and very satisfying, if you are a very big eater, order the double. The normal one is almost double the size of McD burger. Unfortunately, we didn't manage to walk the whole complex because we're in rush for my friend's brother's wedding at night.

Notice that the color of the Christmas tree change colors.

For those who don't know how to go to Pavilion, the easiest way is to take a LRT to Hang Tuah Station. Interchange to Monorail to Bukit Bintang and you'll get down in front of Lot 10 (Opposite Sungei Wang). Facing Lot 10 Complex, walk towards your left around the complex and you'll see Pavilion.

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2008 TO ALL!!!

Chrismas Singapore Trip

Last weekend, took a morning bus to Singapore to find my gf. It was about 4 hours journey. Luckily, there not many people queuing up going in, else it'll be hell of a waiting. Oh ya, Melaka Sentral have opened a new McD restaurant, so those who arrive early won't need to worry about food, especially McD addicts. hehe...

Entering into Singapore Custom

Meet Gingerbread woman (Gingerbread man got eaten by my gf's brother already)

Executed....

Look... no hands

Kind of pity eating the gingerbread woman up though, but what the hell.... never eat this big piece of cookie before what. After that, we went to AMK hub to have a stroll and go for a movie (National Treasure 2:What's on page 47??). Then it's time for dinner at a Japanese's Restaurant. The foods there is not bad, those who can handle the hotness of chilies can try the mi, it have few level of hotness for you to choose from. There's 1 chili, 2 chilies, 4 chilies and even 6 chilies. My gf ordered a 2 chilies, also consider quite spicy already.

Rice with pork and vegetables. There are 2 type of soup for you to choose sweet or sour

Spicy mi (2 Chilies)

Tofu

After dinner we plan to go orchard road to see the decorations and that place will also be the most happening place on Christmas night. Unfortunately, it was raining and so we went to esplanade and there you can find the Lion statue too.

Singapore's famous esplanade theater

Time to pack up for the next day long journey back to KL...

Happy Boxing day

Dont be confused with the sentence of boxing people and go boxing your friends. It is the day after Christmas, the Feast of St. Stephen, the first Christian martyr and it is better known as Boxing Day. The term may come from the opening of church poor boxes that day; maybe from the earthenware boxes with which boy apprentices collected money at the doors of their masters' clients.

Nowadays, we often see, in certain families, gifts (boxes) given to those who provide services throughout the year.

p/s:- Just short updates :P Time go study for finals next year... (4th Jan 2008) hehe...

Christmas Gathering

Last Wednesday I've a small gathering with my Alpha friends which are having their internship in Melaka. This gathering had been planned quite sometime ago, but due to some technical error it had been postponed few times already. Finally this gathering is possible and the best thing is Jason came to pick me up with his small little Kancil which is infested with ants that day. This is how it is being infested, if you on the air-con, you can see ants flying out from it. Man!!! It's so 'geli' my hair stands up just thinking of it. Anyway, we have a nice time gathering and chit chatting. Next time we have another gathering again ok?

Merry Christmas ^^

First time cooking brown rice

After 3 tries, finally i manage to cook a almost perfect brown rice. Cooking brown rice is not as easy as cooking white rice. The time taken and amount of water are different. My first try totally messed everything up. Then next day I try again, and the 1/3 of the rice ended up overcooked (cau ta) which gave me hell of a scrubbing to remove the stains. Today is my 3rd try and everything went nicely with only abit of overcooked but overall I still have a satisfied lunch ^^

Kind da looks like fried rice eh?

Christmas is coming pretty soon, can't wait for this weekend to come XD . It the mean time I've to study up to cover for my holidays for the coming few days...

Water Therapy

It is popular in Japan and India today to drink water immediately after waking up every morning. Furthermore, scientific tests have proven its value.

For old and serious diseases as well as modern illnesses, the water treatment had been found successful by a Japanese medical society as a hundred percent cure for the following diseases:-

* Diabetes
* Constipation
* All Eye Diseases
* Menstrual Disorders
* Ear Nose
* Throat Diseases

Method of Treatment

1. As you wake up in the morning before brushing teeth, drink four glasses of water each of 160 ml.
2. Brush and clean the mouth but do not eat or drink anything for 45 minutes.
3. After 45 minutes you may eat and drink as normal.
4. After 15 minutes of breakfast, lunch and dinner do not eat or drink anything for two hours.
5. Those who are old or sick and are unable to drink four glasses of water at the beginning may commence by taking little water and gradually increase it to four glasses per day.
6. The above method of treatment will cure diseases of the sick and others can enjoy a healthy life.

The following list gives the number of days of treatment required to cure main diseases:

1. High Blood Pressure - 30 days
2. Gastric - 10 days
3. Diabetes - 30 days
4. Constipation - 10 days
5. TB - 90 days

Arthritis patients should follow the above treatment for only 3 days in the first week to be followed by daily treatment. This treatment method has no side effects, however at the commencement of treatment you may have to urinate a few times.

What the HELL!!!

What on earth are they doing? They change the course structure and left everything so bloody messy.

From bulletin board
"Important! Course Structure and Syllabus Update for FET degree programmes"

B.Eng. (Hons) Electronics majoring in Telecommunications:
i.To offer Advanced Microprocessors (new), Parallel Programming (new), Random Process & Queuing Theory, Radar System Design & Analysis and Embedded System Design as elective in 3rd elective group (Epsilon Trimester 3) other electives not to be offered, and subject to changes.

But when u check the attachment from "COURSES TO BE OFFERED IN TRIMESTER 3, 2007/2008". You'll see that Parallel Programming only offered to EE and CE. Notice also that at the bottom of the attachment, there's no Parallel Programming only Parallel Processing. Another thing is you see we're offered total 5 electives subjects but in the attachment we're offered only total of 4 electives. Everything so messed up not synchronize at all. How about others major? Anyone else facing this problem? or just epsilon TE having this messiness...

Yesterday's Dinner

Another home cooked food, almost one week I didn't go out for my lunch and dinner. Why? because no 'kaki' accompany me and kind of lazy go out alone with this gloomy weather makes me even lazier to go out. This time I've cooked; Spaghetti with sardine sauce and additional ingredient of hotdog, ham, lettuce and cherry.

Don't know what to post so I come over this 'rojak' joke and I thought of posting it for the viewing of you all. It is about "The Cantonese who named "America". This joke is really funny with all those XXX words, if you cant take it but still want to read, you may close 1 eye and proceed.

WARNING THIS POST CONTAIN VULGAR WORDS (It's in Chinese meaning anyway)

Well the story goes like this...

Last time... you know... China was the inventor of compass but because
back then...the Chinese had this non expansionist policy... they didn't
go out far to venture venture because of this policy...

and Colombus heard that Chinese got compass... in order to navigate
properly... use compass better lah than looking at stars... kanina...

so this cibai kia Colombus pun pigi China ... went to Canton port and
bought some compasses and got a crew of Cantonese sailors to help him
sail ard the world...

then they pun sailed lor... sail sail sail for months... mah hai... no
land... and water and food also running out... hai laat wor...

and skali...

one day... Colombus was peeking thru his telescope and he saw a small
lump of black mass in a distance... voila!!! land!!!

and Colombus called out to a Chinese sailor standing next to him and say

"hey you... come here... see!!"

to get a double confirmation of the land mass... as he wasn't sure
whether it was real or a sea mirage...

the Chinese sailor peered through the telescope... and saw the black
land mass...

and he said

"Ah... meh lei kah?" (ah what is this)

and that's how Colombus named America

Kisah Benar...

Airlines Jokes

Just thought of sharing some jokes to lighten up your day. Mid term exam this Thursday, have to start getting my engine rolling already... haiz~

Lufthansa Airlines

Passengers on a Lufthansa flight heard this announcement from the

Captain:"Ladies and Gentlemen, I am sorry to inform you that we have

Lost power to all of our engines and will shortly crash into the ocean".

The passengers were obviously very worried about this situation but were

Somewhat comforted by the captain's next announcement.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, we at Lufthansa have prepared for such an

Emergency and we would now like you to rearrange your seating so that

All the non-swimmers are on the left side of the plane and all the

Swimmers are on the right side of the plane.

After this announcement all the passengers rearranged their seating to

Comply with the captain's request.

Two minutes later the captain made a belly landing in the ocean. The

Captain once again made an announcement:

"Ladies and Gentlemen we have crashed into the ocean. All of the

Swimmers on the right side of the plane open your emergency exits and

Quickly swim away from the plane.

For all of the non-swimmers on the left side of plane... -Thank You for

Flying Lufthansa- ".

Delta Airlines

At the airport for a trip, I settled down to wait for the boarding

Announcement at Gate 35. Then I heard the voice on the public address

System saying,

"We apologize for the inconvenience, but Delta Flight 570 will board

From Gate 41."

So my family picked up our luggage and carried it over to Gate 41.

Not ten minutes later the public address voice told us that Flight 570

Would in fact be boarding from Gate 35. So again we gathered our

Carry-on luggage and returned to the original gate.

Just as we were settling down, the public address voice spoke "Thank You

For participating in Delta's physical fitness program."

------------ --------- --------- --------- --------- --------- --------- ------

British Airways

"This is Captain Sinclair speaking. On behalf of my crew I'd like to

Welcome you aboard British Airways flight 602 from New York to London .

We are currently flying at a height of 35,000 feet midway across the

Atlantic."

"If you look out of the windows on the starboard side of the aircraft,

You will observe that both the starboard engines are on fire.

"If you look out of the windows on the port side, you will observe that

The port wing has fallen off."

"If you look down towards the Atlantic Ocean , you will see a little

Yellow life raft with three people in it waving at you. That's me your

Captain, the co-pilot, and one of the air stewardesses"

Have a good day ahead ^^

Home Cook Lunch

For the past few days, this is my lunch. Nothing much though, just a simple claypot yee mee. This is where is use up my vegetables haha... simple and healthy ^^

Ingredient:
Half a cube of chicken stock
Half carrot
Lettuce (Looks like cabbage)
Hotdog
Meat balls
An egg
Yee Mee

First boil the water and then put the chicken stock in and let it dissolve before adding in the slices of carrot. Boil the carrot for awhile and throw in the hotdog and meat balls. Wait until everything is boil up, knock the egg in and lastly add the yee mee. Oh ya, it'll be better if you soak the noodle to wash it before you put it in. Finally, you can add pepper and salt to suit you own taste buds.

p/s:- Got this tips from the lady that sell me the claypot, if you want the claypot to last longer you can do these steps. Fill the pot until full with water, then leave it to boil for half and hour. After that take it up and place the pot on a bundle of newspaper for it to cool down.
